I have been encouraged by the verse Psalm 73:23 -
David says, "Yet I am always with you; You hold me by
my right hand." The rest of the verses are also
encouraging, but I have been thinking especially about
the last part of this verse - "You hold me by my right
hand."
When my children were little, I always held their hand
when we were crossing the street because I wanted them
to cross the street safely. I didn't trust them to
hold my hand, because when a child takes ahold of your
hand, they can easily and quickly drop your hand and
run away or fall down. But if the adult takes ahold
of the child's hand, then you're sure that the child
can't get away from you. The adult is able to hold on
much better and tighter than a child can, making sure
they don't get in the way of traffic or fall down in
the middle of a busy road.
Maybe I didn't explain that very well, but I hope you
will remember today that God has taken hold of your
hand, and He won't let go. He will help you "cross
the street" or deal with whatever you're facing today.
